Eric has worked exclusively in the insurance law area since his call the bar in 1989 – and was a founding partner of the firm in 1997.

He was recognized as a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation by the Law Society of Upper Canada in 1999, and has been recognized by Lexpert® in the Lexpert® Canadian Legal Directory as a consistently recommended expert in personal injury law.

Eric acts primarily for insurers in first party claims under Bill 198 and Bill 59, as well as in a number of loss transfer claims and priority disputes. In addition to acting as counsel at mediations and arbitrations, he has represented clients at all levels of court, including the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also been retained as an expert witness in the area of statutory accident benefits on a number of occasions.

As the author of the CCH Ontario Accident Benefits Case Summaries since 1992, Eric has developed an expertise in this area of auto insurance law that continues to be recognized by members of the insurance bar, his clients, other professionals that service the industry, and other insurers.

Eric was selected by his peers for inclusion in Best Lawyers in Canada (2015) in the areas of Insurance Law and Personal Injury Litigation.
