KARI-ANNE LAYNG

Kari-Anne earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts at Western University in 2011, where she graduated with distinction. She then went on to complete a law degree at Queen’s University in 2015. She completed her articles at an insurance defence firm in Toronto and was called to the Ontario bar in 2015. In 2023 she joined the team at ZTGH to continue her career in litigation.

Kari-Anne has significant experience in the area of insurance defence litigation. She has successfully represented clients before the Ontario Small Claims Court, the Ontario Court of Justice, and the Ontario Superior Court, as well as before various boards and tribunals including the License Appeal Tribunal. Her practice at ZTGH includes Tort, Accident Benefits, and Condominium Law, including directors and officers liability and the defence of claims involving the oppression remedy. Kari-Anne has an eye for the details and excels at making strong arguments to support her clients in a wide range of disputes. In addition to her courtroom experience, she has also resolved numerous cases at private mediations and settlement conferences.

Kari-Anne is a member of the Ontario and Canadian Bar Associations, the Law Society of Ontario, and the Canadian Defence Lawyers. While not working she enjoys cooking, cycling, and spending time with friends and family.
