ELISA PREZZANO

Elisa received her J.D. from the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law in 2025 and her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and Public Policy with a minor in Political Science from the University of Guelph in 2022.

Her interest in litigation developed through her work at the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice, where she supported Crown Attorneys with disclosure review, trial preparation, and case management. She further strengthened her focus on insurance law during her externship with the City of Windsor’s Legal Services Department. There, she assisted with claims against the City and worked closely with the Purchasing and Risk Management Division, which manages the City’s insurance portfolio, responds to damage claims, handles procurements, provides risk management and insurance advice, and oversees insurance litigation. Elisa gained hands-on experience with claims investigations, subrogated claims, and participated in mediations, discoveries, and hearings. She also developed strong client-facing and advocacy skills as a caseworker with Community Legal Aid Windsor, where she managed her own files and represented clients in criminal proceedings and tribunal matters. She further sharpened her written and oral advocacy skills as a participant in the 2024 Transnational Law Moot.

During law school, Elisa was actively involved in leadership and volunteer roles, serving as a council representative with the Students’ Law Society, a representative with Amnesty International at Windsor Law, and as a mentor to first- and second-year students.

Outside of her legal pursuits, Elisa enjoys going to the gym, hiking, and travelling.
