Grace Xu completed her Juris Doctor at the University of Toronto after earning an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry, with a minor in French, at the University of Toronto.

During law school, Grace developed a strong interest in litigation through her involvement with the Callaghan Memorial Moot, as both a competitor and coach, and her work at Downtown Legal Services, where she represented clients before the Landlord and Tenant Board. She also participated in an exchange program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China, where she studied arbitration and Chinese civil procedure and furthered her interest in dispute resolution by attending a China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) conference in Qingdao, China.

Grace is fluent in English, Mandarin, and French, and is conversational in Cantonese.
