JUSTINE O. LEE YOUNG

Justine Lee Young received her J.D. from the Bora Laskin Faculty of Law, Lakehead University in June 2020. Prior to law school, Justine obtained her joint Honours B.A. in French Language and Literature and Classical Studies from Western University.

Justine joined ZTGH in 2020 as an articling student and returned as an associate following her call to the bar in 2021.

Justine’s practice areas include tort, accident benefits, professional negligence, product liability, class actions and examinations under oath. She regularly appears before the Superior Court of Justice and the License Appeal Tribunal on a variety of tort and accident benefit matters. Justine also has trial experience and has assisted lawyers/partners with trial at the Superior Court of Justice as well as hearings at the LAT.

Justine has a passion for advocacy. Throughout law school, she was a caseworker at her school’s legal-aid clinic where she carried a variety of files on Criminal Law, Provincial Offences, Landlord and Tenant, Criminal Injuries Compensation Board and Small Claims matters. It was during this time that she often appeared at WASH court, the Provincial Offences Court and the Criminal Court. Justine then completed her 3L Integrated Practice Curriculum at a Criminal and Family Law firm in Toronto. It was a culmination of her various experiences throughout her legal education and work experience that served to solidify Justine’s desire to pursue a litigation-based career.

Justine is excited to be continuing her legal career at ZTGH and looks forward to building strong relationships with her clients, peers and other members of the legal profession.

In her spare time, Justine enjoys spin and HIIT classes, watching true crime documentaries, travelling, exploring Toronto’s patio scene and experimenting with new makeup and skincare products (she used to work at Sephora).
