Doug obtained his J.D. from the University of Western Ontario in 2015 and was called to the bar in 2016. He also holds a B.A. in Political Science from the Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Doug has an extensive civil litigation background with trial and appellate experience. He has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada, Court of Appeal for Ontario, Superior Court of Justice, Ontario Court of Justice, Small Claims Court and many administrative tribunals. Doug has expertise in addressing workplace investigations and dealing with matters under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Doug prides himself on providing vigorous, efficient and practical representation to his clients.
He is a member of ZTGH’s License Appeal Tribunal, Catastrophic Loss, Estates Litigation, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board, Loss Transfer and Priority Disputes and Cannabis practice groups.
During law school, Doug was a supervisor at Community Legal Services, a student-run legal aid clinic. At the clinic, Doug represented clients in criminal, civil and administrative law matters. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Morris Kroll Memorial Award for contributions to the administration of law in London.
Doug is a proud member of the Qalipu Mi’Kmaq First Nation.
When not in the office, Doug enjoys playing hockey and cooking.
